This was a decision of the further coordination meeting for the preparation of face-to-face learning at the North Sumatera Governor official residence, Jalan Jenderal Sudirman Medan, Wednesday, June 30.
Deputy Governor of North Sumatera, Musa Rajekshah, said school activities and new student admission will remain using the online system until early August 2021.
“So for now, our students will remain studying online at home. Seeing the development of the high increasingly spread of the Covid-19 virus, face-to-face learning will be postponed until next August,” added Rajekshah.
However, students and teachers are required to always wear school uniforms and fill out the attendance list when participating in the online learning process. Rajekshah also stated that teachers do not speed up learning and give more homework.
“That’s the point so that the discipline is maintained and students feel like they are still in the classroom. We also ask that teachers do not shorten the learning time and create a conducive atmosphere during the online learning,” he said.
In addition, the Deputy Governor reminded the North Sumatera Provincial Education Authorities to continue giving online teaching guidelines for the teachers.
“I hope that the Provincial Education Authorities will often give or hold teaching guides so that students continue to study in a conducive atmosphere even though they are online,” he concluded. (wol/aa/nilya/data3)
