MUHAMMAD AZHARI TANJUNGWASPADA ONLINE MEDAN - The current Election Supervisory Committe (Panwaslu) remain refuse to admit newly Panwaslu team appointed by regional Election Commission (KPUD) -- purposed for 2010 Medan municipal head election (Pilkada). Medan Panwaslu chairman, M Aswin, as quoted by Waspada Online, revealed tension between between those two election organizing bodies triggered since Medan KPUD held new Panwaslu team inauguration on Monday (Nov.9), in order to replace the old regional election watchdog. "We would boycott the KPUD-appointed committee," Aswin said in Medan, Monday. He argued, even central Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) autorized to manage regional Panwaslu's term also denied Medan KPUD's supervisory committee. "It should be noted that Panwaslu would obey Bawaslu order, instead of the new Panwaslu team selected by municipal KPUD," he added. Translated by: Ananta Politan Bangun(dat06/wol-mdn) |
