MUHAMMAD AZHARI TANJUNGWASPADA ONLINE MEDAN - Controversial regional general election commission's (KPUD) Medan chapter policy to inaugurate three new election supervisory committee (Panwas) assigned for the Regional Election for Medan administration (Pilkada), questioned by recent Panwaslu staffs in Medan since the current regulation states to retain their position to participate in 2010 Pilkada. "We have no idea about the new members inauguration, to replace us, performed by Medan KPUD. Still, incumbent Panwaslu office have yet been issued the official announcement," head of recent Panwaslu in Medan, Muhammad Aswin told Waspada Online Monday (Nov.9). However, he said, the policy would not influence its performance, to prepare programs deal with the Pilkada in Medan, for its term ends on December 2009. "According to the General Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) regulation No.12/2009, the central election supervisory office ordered municipal/district-based Panwaslu to arrange the preparatiosn ahead Pilkada, including to propose the budget for supervisory affairs," Aswin said. He argued that Medan Development Planning Agency (Bappeda) also admitted the recent committee, as the agency invited them to discuss the funds arranged 2010 Pilkada in Medan untill 2015.
