Media exposes partial KPK's survey: Medan mayor

MEDAN - Medan city mayor Rahudman Harahap conveyed being upset toward mass media for exposing ugly achievement of his administration service, following public service integrity index issued by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).

"They (media) publish negative sides only, our good achievement nor mention anyway," Rahudman said here on Tuesday (Nov.16).

Earlier, KPK released a survey deal with public service integrity index over 22 city governments of Indonesia. Medan tops the worst public service along with the most corrupted city administration on three programs, namely: ID card management, processing of trading license (SIUP), and the building permit (or IMB).

In the meantime, the ex South Tapanuli secretary remarked that Medan gain integrity index of 7.5 for education program, and 6.37 point on the birth certificate management.

"Medan city even gains 71.48 point for integrity index experience, which put us on the top six from all cities surveyed by KPK," he added.

KPK's survey released on October 22, said that Medan obtained 4.4 point, meanwhile Surabaya and Samarinda able to secure 6 point. According to KPK, 6 point is the minimum standard of public service integrity.
